Apri question + good backup methods

I have 2 questions.
1) I am on the birth control pill Apri, and have been for over well over 3 years. This past month's cycle, I have never missed a pill (in fact, I can't remember the last time that happened). Two or three times, however, I forgot to take it at my usual time, but took it as soon as I remembered later in the day. Every other day this month I was good about taking it at the same time. My question is this: I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the second day of my period while I was bleeding. He didn't ejaculate inside me, and he's pretty sure that no pre-ejaculate made its way in there, either. I also have a regular, 28-day cycle as a result of being on the Pill. In all likelihood, I shouldn't be too worried...right?
2) This brings me to my second question: Does anybody have any thoughts on backup birth control methods besides the condom? My boyfriend will use it, because thus far I have told him I won't have sex with him without one. However, I figured it couldn't hurt to at least ask around about backup birth control that other couples use.

There should be no reason to worry. You are covered during your period as long as you don't miss more then 7 days.
I never used a back up method. As long as you're taking your pills properly there isn't really a reason to. I was on the pill for over 4 years and my husband never used anything else. There's no reason to pull out really either since your pill stops you from ovulating so there is no egg there to fertilize.

Thanks, Mel.
The rational part of me knows these things...but I'm a bit of a worrier.
I just needed to kind of snap out of it!
