Increased migraines with Nuva ring?

I had terrible problems with constant spotting while on bc pills. I tried every pill in the book - high estrogen, low estrogen, high progesterin.... you get the idea. My doctor begged me to try the nuva ring a little less than a year ago, and with much trepidation I did. It worked! I have normal periods again! So if there is anyone out there experiencing period drama and are hesitant to try the ring like I was, seriously consider it. And, of course, no unplanned pregnancies! And now that I am not bleeding every day, I have lost 20 lbs (that and I got my thyroid under control). I'm not saying the nuva ring is the solution to everything, but it has really been great for me.
That being said - I feel like I'm having a lot more migraines - and that they are much worse and getting progressively so. Anyone else had that problem?

Hi, I don't have a Nuva Ring, but I am taking Yaz and the migraines are getting worse and worse. I have not been willing to stop the Yaz because it has basically gotten rid of all of my PMS and severe PMDD symptoms. I have been working with my neurologist to try and find something that will prevent the migraines and allow me to stay on Yaz. I have been on Lyrica for prevention of migraines for a few weeks. It takes a long time to start to work because you have to slowly increase the dose. I am not sure if it is an answer yet or not but the last two migraines (Monday and Tuesday) were not too bad.
I spent last Friday in the ER because I was so dyhdrated I could no longer hold anything down. None of the migraine meds I have worked or the nausea medication. It was not fun.
I am also going to go see a GYN who specializes in endocronology since I have PMDD and menstrual migraines--I am a bit of a hormonal mess :-)
Oh, I also have spotting with the Yaz even when I skip periods. I had wondered about the nuva ring since it delivers a low dose of hormones--I thought it might work for my PMDD--but it sounds like it might also make my migraines worse.
Just wanted you to know you are not alone. I knew that there was a chance that my migraines would get worse on the Yaz but I was desperate to be free of the PMDD. I am keeping my fingers crossed about the Lyrica--none of the other drugs like Topomax helped me.

Completely off topic, but my DH takes Lyrica too. He takes it because he has MS though not migraines.
