The pill and stress

I seems to recall hearing... or reading somewhere that stress can affect the effectivness of the pill. But when i try and find any information on it I have no luck. Leatly I've been under a huge about of stress so i'm a bit concerned that it could be reducing the effectivness of my birth control. Does anyone have any information on this?
k

I don't have any real information on that. I know for me personally it didn't matter. If stress had been a factor I would have gotten pregnant before I went off. I had a year from you know where and never had a problem, maybe I was lucky (lol).

I know stress can cause you to have spotting between periods, and can very high levels of stress can make *getting* pregnant harder. But, I've never read or heard anything about it affecting the pill. If you haven't found anything about it in a good Google search, I'd say it hasn't been clinically demonstrated. I wouldn't worry about it.
BTW, do you drink caffeinated drinks? The pill slows down the metabolization of caffeine. It doesn't affect the effectiveness of the pill, but it can result in caffeine having a greater effect on you than before the pill. So, if you are under stress anyway, you might want to keep an eye on your intake.
I've also never heard of stress being a factor in the effectiveness of the pill.
