Newly inserted IUD and exercise

I saw my doctor last Friday about possibly having BV and everything was fine.

So, I finally started my period on Sunday and will be having the IUD (Paragard) inserted on Wed. My question is, when can go I go back to my regular exercise routine? I usually do either aerobics (step and floor), kickboxing, and sometimes running. I'm scared to do anything for fear that it will expel.

Thanks in advance.

You can do them right away. You might want to wait a couple of days because you feel crampy but there's no reason to wait. I went back to jogging 2 days after I had mine put in. Once it's in, it's in.

Take some ibuprofen before hand it usually helps with the discomfort. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Marina,

I was exercising just a few days after insertion - within the week. I didn't have any problems with it being expelled.

Megan and Mel-

Thanks for your responses. I think I'll take it easy for a few days and try exercising this weekend.
