Aunt Flo circling the airport??

Dear Fiance is driving me bats! Every day he's been asking me, how I feel and if I've started yet. My response: I feel like hell's half acre and nope, haven't started yet. I've been bloated, craving salt and chocolate, getting weepy at Hallmark commercials with VERY swollen, tender breasts and I've been this way since taking Plan B. In the past few days I've been experiencing more than the usual amount of discharge. Enough that it feels like I've started and I run to the bathroom only to be disappointed. Did anyone else go through this or am I the odd one out?

His high level of stress over this isn't doing much to put me in a calm state of mind. And I know that stressing can lead to lateness - more stress = more late. Since day 1 of my cycle was March 1st, today I would have started my period sometime between 9:30 and 10am this morning. On a very rare occasion, it shows up a day late but always at the same time.

We went to the EC sites that were recommended, both Princeton University's and Plan B's. We thought they were useful in some respects, pretty darn vague in others... I suppose we were looking for something more "technical". For example we were hoping/expecting to see something like this: "80% of women who took the full dosage within 24 hours of unprotected sex began their periods within 10 days". What we got was this: "on average, women started their periods a day earlier when they used emergency contraception more than two days before ovulation, and their periods generally started two days later if they took the pills more than two days after ovulation". I have no idea when ovulation occured so I'm sitting with fingers crossed that I start on Friday or Saturday.

So, our question is this: Do we wait until Friday, which would be exactly 2 weeks since taking Plan B, to take a pregnancy test? Or do we wait until I'm a week late? I have an appointment with my doc on Friday for an unrelated matter but am going to ask about this.

Thank you for letting me rant and ramble, Ladies

Hi Catherine, welcome back!

For more detailed information about Plan B you might want to give their hotline a call and ask you question of a real person. The Plan B Information Center can be reached at 1-800-330-1271. Or, you could ask your doctor and see what s/he says. I know it's
