Ok...Everyone is talking about how the Orthoevra patch exposed patients to increased estrogen, even though it was promoted as "low dose". My understanding is that it was due to the steady exposure. You stayed at 20mcg for 3 weeks straight instead of just peaking at that point shortly after taking your pill. Wouldnt it be the same with Nuvaring?? Its promoted as "ultra low dose" because its at 15mcg. But arent you actually being exposed to alot more due to the steady dose?? How would you compare the exposure to a 20 mcg pill??

Hi again hon.

Thanks!! You guys are an excellent resource for Women.
My concern is I am just trying to be on the lowest bc possible, progestin and estrogen. We always use backup protection so we dont need 100% effectiveness. Plus at my age, my fertility is probably somewhat compromised. But I appreciate the how the hormones regulate and minimize my periods. No cramps or intense PMS, just heavy flow and somewhat sporadic. It seems after Alesse, Nuvaring is the lowest dose possible. Do you agree?? Is there something that is even lower??
