What was your personal experience of bc method?
Depo- I actually lost weight (I have PCOS), but hated what it did to my sex drive and ability to have an orgasm. No one talked to me about those side effects.
Creams/Condoms- Burn and irritate my mucous lining. Hate them.
Diaphragm- liked this alot but didn't find it to be convenient. Hated having to put it in. Also didn't like using spermicide with it as recommended because of skin sensitivity issues.
The Pill- I was psycho on the pill. Serious mood swings. Also it gave me horrid migraines. I tried a variety of different brands including progesterone only options.
Nuvaring- I have to say that once I got the hang of putting this in I LOVED this one. It didn't give me the same side effects of other hormonal bc's, and I liked the convenience of choosing whether or not to get my period. Only complaint: DH and I did play ring toss during sex one time.
IUD's- Never tried them
Pull&Pray-This works alright if you have a partner with self control.
Breastfeeding w/amenorrhea LOVED this but hated having to check my saliva in the microscope to make sure I wasn't fertile. (You ovulate 2 weeks b4 your period not after).
Anyway that's my experience. What's yours?

I've only used two methods.
The pill, I did fine on it but until I was off it I never realized what it did to my libido. I thankfully did not gain weight on it.
The Mirena IUD, I LOVE IT! Nothing to remember, no period so far. The only annoying thing is that I spotted off and on for 6 weeks after having it put in, but it was SO worth it. It's the most effective form unless you have someone sterilized too, so no scares. It doesn't affect my libido and I've continued to lose weight with it.

I used condoms for about 4 years or so, no spermicide. Didn't have any issues with them, but I was a little paranoid and wanted to get rid of my heavy periods. I've also used female condoms, and they're interesting, but less discreet than a male condom. They're less restrictive for my husband, but they're still not natural-feeling enough for him.
I took the pill for about six years, didn't like having to remember it every day and I did have some problems with side effects on certain pills. As it turns out, I can't tolerate an entire family of progestins. Fortunately I have other options!
I've been using Nuvaring for the last four years and don't have any issues with it. I'm happy about not having to remember anything and my calendar lets me know when it's time to remove and replace.
I had a brief experience using FAM. It was pretty slick in that I could actually identify ovulation using my temperatures, but using condoms is something my husband isn't cool with so that plan didn't go so well. That and I felt better on birth control than off (because I'd been on so long), so I went back on Nuvaring.
In a very small nutshell, that's my experience!
Co-cl for Birth Control
Condoms: they’re fine but inconvenient and required of course if you're in a new relationship, IMHO
Pill: Triphasil – good, Necon 1/35 – great, Mircette – not for me. Vaginal dryness and mood swings
Norplant: I loved it for three years but then I had lots of BTB and had it removed
Patch: Loved it, made my boobs bigger, maybe gained 3 – 4 lbs, but some of it was boobs:)
Nuvaring: I liked this one, but I stopped using it due to the fact that it decreased milk supply, which I knew was a possibility while bf. We occasionally had a ring toss game too.
Depo: I didn’t have weight gain but I also don’t have any sex drive, and I have mood swings. My next shot is due 5/3 but I won’t be getting it
IUD’s: I plan to try Mirena in May when my next shot is due. Hope I like it.
