My gyn called me back this afternoon. I wanted to discuss switching pills... since MonoNessa is not working out for me in regards to skipping periods, no change for the better in moods, and extreme discharge. My gyn said that I'm just "one of those people" that can't skip. She wants me to stay on the same pill and just have scheduled bleeding... no more trying to skip. She said she was not convinced that this pill would help my moods when she prescribed it for me. (huh? when I asked her last year at my annual that is mainly what I wanted a new pill for...for my moods). I brought up the extreme discharge and she said that that should get better once I go back to having a monthly period. She did not think this pill was causing the dry skin on my face. She did not sound confident that any other pill would help me. I mentioned IUD- mirena. She said those are difficult to put in and not recommended for people who have not been pregnant before. She also said there is a lot of irregular bleeding with that and since I can't skip my period anyway then that would be a problem too.
So, since my pill packs are all messed up with having to stop for period when I had btb last time. I have 19 active pills. In order for me to be on the same day and not borrowing for the next new pack.... I'm planning on when the pills in this pack run out then have period--miss two active pills and the seven placebo pills... so the next time when I start a new pack I'll have a full pack and be on the start day I want. I know it is not good to miss active pills. I don't have sex anyway as it is. So into my next pack I'll need then seven active pills in order to be protected again??? Please help me with this.

You CAN have an IUD if you have not had children. If you do want one find another doctor that will do it for you. I know that there's a lady here, Megan?, that has it and hasn't had any children. She has the mirena like me and LOVES it.
I had a hard time skipping my period on the pill as well. Since I've had the mirena I haven't really had one to speak of. I did spot off and on for about 6 weeks after it was put in though. I've heard it's more painful to have put in if you haven't had kids but that's temporary.

I do have the Mirena IUD and haven't had any children. Some doctors still will not insert the IUD into a woman who has not had children - but some will, so you just have to search around.
I will suggest that you be married or in a very serious monogamous relationship. The IUD is not good if you may be having new partners as it increases your chance of infection.
