Anyway, I BF for 2.5 months and became deathly ill with Thyroid problems and hospitalized for several weeks then had to have Radiaition so

I know a few women who said their cycles were worse after their child.

I have the Mirena IUD and love it personally. There is an adjustment period though with spotting off and on for 6 weeks-3 months. I haven't had a period since I stopped spotting which I love. It's good for 5 years but if you decide to have another child sooner it can be removed and you can start TTCing right away. I don't know if it's something you'd be interested in, it's progesterone only and localized. If you're interested ask your doctor about it with your thyroid.

Thank you so much on the info about Mirena. I am scared to death to put something in my body. I had such a bad time with Depo that something I can't take out would probably scare me to the point I would panic.

When I was on Depo I had my period for a year straight.

The thing about Mirena is that IF you did have a bad reaction you can remove it right away. It's kind of expensive if you do that but it's possible. You can have it removed at any time. After you've had it 2 years it's cheaper then the pill.

I can't feel a thing now that it's in. DH doesn't feel the strings during sex and I really have to be looking for them to feel them.

If you ever have any other questions about it feel free to ask.

I know you're going through a lot....and if it helps any, my sister-in-law has had Grave's disease and had her thyroid killed a few years ago.
