Hello everyone, I am very concerned because I haven't gotten my period and I've never been late. What happened was that I got my patches late in the mail and was unable to start my new cycle of patches when I was supposed to, so my doctor suggested I start when I got my next period, problem is, I haven't started yet and I'm worried because like I said before I've never been late. My last period was on Mar.15 and I used condoms during this time except for one time on April 1. I'm confused though because I've been getting cramps like if I'm gonna get it but nothing happens and I don't know if me worrying and stressing so much about it is making it worse, can somebody please help or say some words that will ease my worries.

Thank you so much!!

P.s. I've been on the patch for about two years and this is the first time I go off it, so I don't know if that has something to do with it. . . anyways any words of wisdom will help. Thanx

Some women do take awhile to have a period after coming off hormonal birth control. Have you taken a pregnancy test? I'd take one to be safe and then call the doc to ask if you should start the new patches.

I agree with Mel regarding the pregnancy test, and I would also add that you should try to relax, as hard as that is. Stress can delay your period.

So after being on the patch or pill you may not have your period for awhile? I asked for advice on another board but no responses quiet yet. I wasn't on it for long, like 6 months. Then i went off of it becuase of chest pains. I havent had my period in awhile and my dr. made me go for a blood pregnancy test!! AH! But ummm he said it couold also be all the stress, like telling me i might be pregnant isn't stressful EITHER?

Someone respond PLEASE!

Desperate for answers!

Thank you all!

I don't think it matters how long you are on them really. Some women do take awhile to get back to normal. A lot of doctors order the blood test just to be safe and rule out pregnancy.

Thanx to everyone who replied, I took everyones advice and took a hpt and it was negative, that makes me feel a little better, but I'm still gonna wait a week and if I don't get my period I guess I'll just take another hpt or go to my doctor for a blood test.

Thanx again four all your advice.
