Yasmin to Yaz

I have been on Yasmin for the last 3 years and my doctor sent my some samples of Yaz. She said that they are the generic brand of Yamsin. I started taking Yaz right after I finished my last pack of Yasmin and have been taking them at the same time each day as normal. I am currently on the placebo pills, but I was wondering if I was suppose to use a backup method during the first pack since I haven't seen my period.

I'm peeved that your doctor told you that Yaz is the generic form of Yasmine. That is so untrue. Yaz is a totally different bcp. It's a lower dose pill than Yasmine.

I wouldn't think that you would have to use another form of bc as back up, just continue taking the pills as you would have.

Yes, my doctor said that Yaz was the generic of Yasmin. After doing some research today, I had learned otherwise. Currently no side effects from Yaz other than my period starting later than usually. Just started my period today after taking the first pack of Yaz. I will keep everyone posted on my experience with Yaz.

Thanks for your responses.
