still waiting, another possibility?

Well, it's been another night and part of a day and still no period. This is the lastest I've ever been in my entire life. Since I had a beginning of a period about 2 weeks ago from the missed pill, is it possible that I won't have one this time? I'm trying to think of anything to ease my mind about this. Is it even a possibility? I'll add my original post, just to remind everyone.

Original Post-
I'll start by saying, I've never ever been more than an hour late on a BC pill in 2 years. On April 4 I fell asleep and forgot to take my pill, I never even noticed. So, every night I would just pop out the next pill and take it. Fast forward to Saturday night, I realized that I'd just taken the pill for Friday. I was one pill behind for almost 3 days. Also, during those three days, I had light cramping and spotting, as if I were about to start a period soon. The instructions on the BC box said that if only 1 pill is missed, no backup is needed. Should I be worried? I ALWAYS start on Tue. morning, and now it is Wed. and I concerned. I know it's only a day late, but I've always been like clockwork, even before BC. Is it likely? If the horomones dipped enough to cause bleeding/cramping, is that enough to drop an egg? Could my period be off b/c I almost had one the week before? Seriously, never thought I'd be sitting at my desk praying to bleed and feel abdominal pain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is possible that you might not have a period this time, yes. You build up a certain amount of endometrium over the course of your cycle, and once that's gone, unless the blood vessels are leaking (that happens too and is normal), there probably wouldn't be any more bleeding. It's also possible that you might just have a little spotting--any bleeding can be considered a period when you're on the pill.

If you're losing sleep, pregnancy tests aren't that expensive, I think I bought a two pack last year for $11. If it will put your mind to rest, since it's been two weeks since your missed pill, it should be reliable.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your answer, I'm not quite as panicked as I was before!
