Nuvaring and Yeast Infections

I seem to be getting chronic yeast infections since I have been on the ring. I actually confused it for vaginal dryness because I haven't had much of a discharge. But when I went to my gyno, he said I had a ton of yeast in there. He prescribed me some creams which seem to give temporary relief but then they come back. Before the ring, if I had a yeast infection it would go right away when I used monistat or similar.
These creams say not to use with vaginal insterts. Which I was, and I am suspecting that could be the problem. So I am wondering in my next round of treatments, if I should take my ring out, and how long can I leave it out for? I've been doing some reading on this problem, and many articles seemed to suggest boric acid suppositories which are used overnight.

If you do take your ring out while you are using the anti-yeast creams, you will lose your protection after 3 hours and may start your period. It is safe to leave the ring in while you are treating a yeast infection.
I take acidophilus daily, with or without yeast infections.
I had issues all the time with yeast infections when I had an IUD. The only thing that finally stopped them cropping up, was getting it removed permanently. Even then, it took a few months before I was able to have sex without getting a yeast infection (and we were using condoms, so it wasn't my partner giving them to me), and a month on multidophilus tablets to help support my immune system.
So yes, take multidophilus, or acidophilus supplements on a daily basis to help matters. I think you should see if you can get Diflucan instead of creams. Sometimes using a vaginal gel to keep your vaginal pH up can help keep infections at bay as well, but you would have to find out if it is safe to use with your ring. The one I have used contains acetic acid, and was nonirritating until I also developed vaginal dryness!
A multivitamin doesn't hurt either, as this will help boost your immune system. Try to get vitamins that don't contain yeast.
There are also some natural supplements out there that are designed to help fight off systemic yeast that might help. A couple of the ingredients are often Vit C, Vit E, garlic and Pau D'Arco.
