What are the odds?

My boyfriend and I are very careful about birth control. I'm on the pill and we use condoms. I've been on the pill for a few years, but I've often had irregular periods and even skipped one here and there. It's been two months now, and I haven't had my period. I wasn't too concerned, as I've been under major stress and have been sick. Anyways, I was mentioning to a co-worker yesterday how I've been feeling nauseous when I wake up in the mornings. She asked me if I had tenderness in my breasts, which I do, and told me to get get a pregnancy test. Because I'm so careful with birth control, I never put two and two together with what's going on with my body right now; I never even considered pregnancy. What are the odds of getting pregnant if you use both the pill and condoms? I'm going out first thing tomorrow morning to buy a pregnancy test, but I was hoping some late night people might be on now who could perhaps address my problem. Thank you so much!

I think the odds are incredibly low if you've been using both birth control and condoms religiously!
I would say if you're pregnant with all of that protection - this baby would be meant to be. A holy maricle!!
Hi there,
The odds are very low that you could be pregnant if you have been using both the pill and condoms for protection. The risk for pregnancy would be 0.012% (effectiveness 98.8%) for typical use, and for perfect use, the risk is 0.00006 (effectiveness 99.994%).
If the pregnancy test is negative, I would see your doctor about your symptoms.
its amazing when ur scared about something like that, that everything everyone says about how u feel all of a sudden applies to u! Ur prob fine, stress can do that and mess with ur period. My friend had the same prob, she didnt know if she was preg or not and she didnt have hers for 2 months- becuase she stressed so bad it delayed it. Best thing to do is go take a test, let me know what happens.
