Has anyone used a "birth control computer?" I've looked online at the temperature based ones like Ladycomp Fertility Monitor, Pearly and Babycomp.
I've heard on one for sale in Europe that works by Peeing on strips of paper. Anyone know the name or have experience with it? I think name of one such computer is Persona?
thanks!

Hi wasabi2007, welcome!

These are not Birth Control Computers, they are ovulation detectors for those trying to conceive. They have some of the same weaknesses as ovulation predictor kits, and should not be used for trying to avoid pregnancy.
If you are trying to avoid pregnancy using more natural methods, then you need to do some reading on the various methods. The most effective method is Natural Family Planning or Fertility Awareness Method (the difference between the two is that with NFP you avoid sex during your fertile periods, and with FAM you use a barrier method). They require diligence on the part of the couple in order for it to work. One slip up could be enough to get you pregnant. NFP/FAM were recently confirmed to be as effective as the pill if the rules were followed correctly, so it is a viable option.
My partner and I use FAM - during my fertile times we use condoms, and during my nonfertile times we go without. However, we only go without condoms post-ovulation even though certain rules allow barrier-free sex prior to ovulation, so we are playing it ultra careful.
For more information about it, you should read Toni Weschler's "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".
Also, you could visit the NFP/FAM Board, which is linked through my siggie.
