Would you feel a partial expulsion?

Hi,
Sorry to post again but I had yet another question about the IUD. I had paragard inserted last week on the 24th of April, and of course I'm worried about expulsion. Would i feel if it was partially out?
The reason I'm asking is because I still feel sort of strange down there. The best way I can describe the feeling is if you used a tampon on a very light day and you get that uncomfortable feeling.
I have tried to feel my cervix to see if i can feel part of the IUD...and I'm not having much luck there (meaning I don't feel anything). I don't want to run to the gyn because i'm worried so I was hoping you guys could help me out. Also I really can't find my string unless i'm laying down, and then I don't even know if i've found one or 2 is this normal? I'm feeling like a string checking failure :) I thought by getting the IUD i'd have peace of mind but now I'm just nervous about it.
Thanks for listening!
Amy

I had that same feeling for about a weekish. I felt bruised, maybe swollen? It just felt weird. I can always only feel my strings in one position.
You're doctor should have scheduled you for a follow up appt a month from the insertion to check the position.
I didn't feel confident in my IUD until after that appt. I must have checked my strings every day the first month. I was nervous about it because I didn't have to DO anything. It drove me crazy. After seeing my doc and her telling me it was fine I felt relived.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Thanks Mel!
I do have a follow up appointment for the 1st Saturday in June...it seems so far away :)
My Paragard was inserted last September. I have never liked tampons, and I can remember feeling weird for a while. Not sure how long it lasted, though. But, there was definitely an unusual feeling of something there. I don't think it lasted a long time, maybe a couple to a few weeks.
Best wishes
Sallie
Hi Amy,
The first month that I had my IUD, I could have sworn that I felt it poking me from time to time. Like you said, that uncomfortable feeling. But eventually, I just stopped noticing it. And my IUD is still in there a year and a half later. You're just more aware of it right now, and that will stop.
