I went to my gynecologist earlier this week and was planning on asking her about switching from Ortho Tricyclen Lo to NuvaRing. Well she wasnt very helpful at all. She wrote the prescription and thats about it. I dont have the option of changing doctors right now so Ive been doing a lot of my own research on the matter. I am just wondering if anyone has made the switch from pill to ring and if the side effects were much different for them. I know it is a very individual thing but Im just curious about other peoples experiences with the ring. Also, has anyone had any problems with the ring falling out? I am on the smaller side and am a little worried about this. Thank you for any experiences you can share with me.

I totally understand where you are coming from- I'm switching gynos this year for that reason!

I'm currently on the NuvaRing, but when I first started BC in September, I was on Ortho-Lo. On that pill, the worse side effect I

Well, when I first started it, I thought it was the greatest thing! Nothing to worry about, minimal weight gain (compared to Ortho Tri Cyclen) and thought it was the greatest thing.

Well... 3 months into it.

I had developed the worst I acne I had ever seen on my face.
I've had a little acne in my teens and early twenties, but NOTHING compared to what I got with nuvaring.

Then the depression! I didn't know it until I got off of it - but it was really bad.
I mean my boyfriend and I joke about it now, but I was crying almost 4 nights a week, I would get emotional at work, while driving... just all the time.

Now I'm one year off Nuvaring, on Loestrin (a little alarm on my cell phone helps me A LOT). And I'm back to my tearless self =) and everythings fine.

I really liked the benefits of not worrying about taking pills and such, but when I think about how much better I feel without it... its worth it, for me.

Hope I was a little more help.

Take care!

Just put your finger in and hook the ring on your finger, then slide it out. It's pretty easy to get out.
