Hi everyone..this is my first post so nice to meet you all :)

I had the contraceptive implant put it about 5 months ago and all it has given me is grief so last thursday 3rd May i had it removed. Now why i had it took out was because of the bleeding (bleeding conesecutively for 8 weeks)
The doctor told me when i had it removed everything would go back to normal,i'm quite concerned because the bleeding has got alot heavier? Is this to be expected?

Is this my body adjusting to the implant being removed?

Any advise would be much appreciated

Oh and also my doctor told me that because i don't get on with my contraceptives my only option now is an IUS..but i've heard having these fitted if you haven't had kids is a nightmare?
Anyone got any experiences please?

Finished now lol

Hi there,

It will take a few months for your body to sort itself out. It sounds like you are probably having a withdrawal bleed from having the implant removed. Hopefully things will resolve themselves soon, otherwise you should see your doctor.

I have used the Mirena, and I also have a history of not being able to tolerate hormonal contraceptives. The Mirena turned out to be no exception for me. While I had it removed eight months ago, I am still battling issues caused by it. So given your history of not being able to tolerate anything, I would be wary of trying another hormonal method.
