Can I skip AF w/Nuvaring somehow?

I just started the ring so I'm new at all this... If I wanted to skip my period w/the pill, I'd just skip my non-hormone pills and start a new pack. Is this possible w/the Nuvaring??

TIA! :)

You actually have a lot more flexibility with the ring than you do with the pill! The ring is good for up to 28 days, as Jill mentioned, but you aren't committed to increments of 7.
You can stick with increments of 7 and leave your ring in for a total of four weeks and then remove it (I've done this successfully a number of times), you can insert a new ring when you remove your 3 week old ring and go another 3 weeks (I've tried this, it didn't go so well for me), or you can move your period by several days.

My insertion and removal days are Fridays, so I get my period on Monday through Thursday or Friday. If I need to not have my period on Monday or Tuesday, I can leave my ring in for 23 days, remove it 2 days later than normal, and start my period two days later than normal. I usually insert the next ring on Friday regardless of whether I took the last one out on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday--you can shorten your ring-free interval but you can't lengthen it.

Good luck!
