Hi

I have been on continous BC pills for 5 months now? Will I ever have a day without this breakthrough bleeding or spotting? I am on a low dose pill. Thought this would quit after 4 mos but nooo.... I am not on them for birth control just regulating crazy periods if I had them. Will it stop? Lezza

You may need to try a different pill. Sometimes the low dose ones don't have enough hormones to stop BTB for some women.

There will be a new 3 month adjustment period if you change pills.

Hi,

If you are taking Yaz, it won't stop according to my GYN/Endocronologist. She says there is not enough estrogen to keep the uterus from shedding. I was not able to deal with the BTB when trying to skip with Yaz. Other women on the PMS/PMDD oard are having the same problem. The nice thing about Yaz is after a while 5 or 6 months AF gets really light and there is hardly any period for many women.

Hi

Yes I am on Yaz and this is starting 5th month. I am thinking of going back to lo-ovral and skipping with it. So are you saying if I let my self get a period, it might not be a heavy one? I do like having no PMS but I am sick of this almost daily BTB.

I hope your migraines are better. THanks for the response Lezza

Hi Thanks I just might have to. I just don't feel like "Adjusting" again right now.

I am on YAZ. I like your idea of having a period to reset my pills. Maybe it will work. Otherwise I might switch to loovral, it is just as low in estrogen as Yaz but it is a differnt combination (with progresterone instead of that Yaz second ingredient.) Would that help do you think, switching pills?

I guess I will have to deal with the PMS to stop this annoying spotting, etc. Thanks for mentioning about the time I take these pills. I have been trying to remember than at the same time! Hopefully that will help. I guess I could reset, as you say at any time....I will try that and let you know. Thanks for the input Lezza

Periods just get lighter and lighter the more you have them on Yaz. It's more like spotting for 3 days. The BT is horrible. I could not stand it.

You might want to go back to the other pill--there are also some new ones and I think one will be coming out that will basically stop AF altogether and Wyeth is seeking approval from the FDA for it as a treatment for PMDD.

Thanks, the migraines are better, but I am still working on it.

Let me know what you decide--keep in touch!

Rather than switching pills, why don't you just try Yaz the way it's directed or for a shorter length of active pills?

When you take the pill, the estrogen in the pill causes the lining of your uterus to grow.

Hi

Thank you very much for this response. Now could you please clarify? How many days do I shorten my cycle? 21? Certainly not more? I will try this if I can understand what I am supposed to do. Like do I take 21 then get a period? When do I start the next pack? I am obviously confused? Any help would be appreciated. I do like YAZ for its benefits so I would not like to quit yet. Thanks Lezza
