Hi,
Someone recently commented about how the pill might not be as effective for overweight women b/c the hormones get absorbed by excess body fat. I was wondering what a good pill would be for someone who is overweight?
I am on Ortho-Cyclen b/c I wanted to avoid exactly that problem. I am 5'7" and weigh about 160 pounds. (I think my BMI is 26) I use the pill as my primary method of birth control, besides pulling out, which I know isn't even considered a method of contraception.
Does this pill have enough hormones for me?
Thanks for any insight!

I was on the pill for 4 1/2 years. I'm 5'8" and 175. I never had a problem and I'm married so the pull out method seems silly to us. That's why we use the pill (and now an IUD).
Honestly at 5'7" and 160 I don't think you're really that overweight. :D
I think they might mean morbidly obese people not just 10 or 20lbs over their "ideal" weight people. Maybe Jill will have numbers for you.
Hi gramercygirl, welcome back!
