breats pain-- pill?

I've noticed the day or two before my period is due, one of my breasts only gets this dull pain on the side of it that shoots outward. This happens very frequently during the day. I'm almost done with my period and the pain is still continuing. I have a gyn appt in a few weeks and of course will ask about this. Wondering if it is the pill doing yet another interesting thing and what I can do to make this pain stop without taking med.? I think it may be the bcp because on the other one I was on about a year ago I did not get this pain.. just the normal breast tenderness/soreness before period and that was it.

ETA:
I just did a self breast check and that breast has a "lump" underneath the areole part. Is this because I'm on my period now or what??

To add to what Jill said, the pill can slow the metabolization of caffeine, so it may take less caffeine to get the side effects. (Caffeine doesn't affect the pill, the pill affects caffeine. So, no concerns about reduced effectiveness!)

I have really bad fibrocycstic breasts. I'm a javaholic, so I have a really tough time with this. If you like coffee, I recommend Starbucks' Cafe Vienna. The decaf version is pretty good, and mixes well with the caf version to make a nice half-caf. I've also had pretty good success with vitamin E. Wearing a light support sports bra at night when I'm hurting helps.

Good luck!
