OTC Lo ? attempted skip

I'm sure this has probably been posted before. I'm just really frustrated right now. I went on vacation and attempted to skip my period by skipping the placebo pills on OTC Lo. Well, Aunt Flo came light, but anyway. I've been spotting since May 23, and full period for a week now. It just won't stop. I'm guessing that the answer is no, but is there anything that can be done? When do I consider calling my doctor? What sucks is that I am coming close to the next set of placebos and my luck is that I'll get another period then if this one ever stops, lol. Thanks for letting me vent. I don't think that I will attempt another skip on OTC Lo again.

Hi,

You can't skip your period on Ortho TRI Cyclen...only on Ortho Cyclen, or any other pill that gives you a consistent hormone dose over the course of your cycle. I'm not sure why, but that's what my doctor told me at my last annual visit (I skip cycles all the time, so I asked for a pill I would be able to do that with). I'm guessing that the varying hormones on Ortho "Tri" threw your body out of whack, and that's why you're bleeding so much. Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions.

I plan on taking the placebos and hopefully things will reset. My doctor told me that skipping by starting the new pack would work. I'll try taking the ibuprofen to make things stop. I like OTC Lo, and haven't gained (actually lost weight on it). But having the ability to skip would be nice. I have an appointment next month anyway, so I'll ask then. Sucks because I want to take things to the next level with my bf, but don't want to while wearing pad/tampon and don't want to use the soft cup.
