Ortho TriCyclen LO question

I'm 26, had my first baby 6.5 months ago. At my 6 week post-baby appt, my dr. put me on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. From that point on, my sex drive took a nose dive. After my daughter was born, and I was feeling ready, at about the 3.5 week point (I had zero tearing, really easy recovery and I knew I was ready), my husband and I had sex. It was great before my daughter, it was FANTASTIC after. So for the 3 or so weeks before I started the Ortho, we enjoyed wonderful sex. After the pill, NO sex drive.

Is this common? I was previously on Ortho Tri Cyclen regular for many many years from 18-23 years old with no problems. I can't figure out why when I'm on a low dose of hormones, it would end up messing with my sex drive. I've always really enjoyed sex, never gone through any slumps, but for the last 4 months, I've had no desire and it almost seems tedious. I can't let this happen in my marriage. Sex is too important to both my husband and I. We have a wonderful marriage and he is very much into me. We have sex 3 times a week or so and I am tried of my participation being out of pity, I want it to be because I want him too. Mentally I do, physically I don't.

Should I try taking some time off the pill to see what happens? I don't want to switch to a new brand of pills because I want to make sure that is it before I try loading my body with a different pill.

Hopefully someone can give me some advice. I talked to my husband about it. He said if I wanted to take a break from the pill to see what would happen, that it's fine with him and that we will be careful and if I end up pregnant again, oh well. LOL. So protection isn't the key. Figuring out the problem is. Is it likely the pill?

Thanks in advance.

hi there! I am on Ortho-Lo too, and have been for over 6 yrs.! I love it! Since the horomones in the Lo version of Tri-Cyclen are a LOT lower than the normal version than you're on, it's probably just your body flushing out horomones from your Preg. You body can takes months to do that..

Good Luck!!
