Would you be worried?

I have been taking Yasmin for a year and a half now. It is the only form of bc that I use. About 2-3 weeks ago, I can't remember exactly when I had diarrhoea, every day for about 5 to 6 days. It would occur within 15-30 minutes after I took my pill. I never thought anything of it, even though I know diarrhea is pretty much the same thing as vomitting your pill. Anyways, I had sex that week about 5 to 6 times I would say. I really don't think I am pregnant but you never know. Also during the week I take my pill at 4:20am I would forget to take it any other time during the day. I work all day long and usually have drs apt after work, and I don't stay up till the same time every night so first thing when I get up seems to be the most logical time for me. Well on the weekends I do tend to sleep past 4:20. Sometimes I don't get up until 8, sometimes it is 9 or 10 and that is when I take my pill. Is this something I should be concerned about. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Jill,

Thanks for you response.

>>I think the diarrhea that is of concern is a severe bout that empties your stomach. Just a loose stool shouldn't have any effect but if you had a severe case or cases, that could be a problem.<<

It wasn't just loss stool. It was diarrhea. I only had it once a day in the mornings, in most cases. I think I figured out the problem, being that I was eating breakfast as soon as I woke up. When I stopped eating breakfast then, the diarrha stopped.

>>I'm sorry hon, but I think taking your pill 4 to 5 1/2 hours later on weekends is something you should be concerned about. If 4:20 am is the best pill-time for you then I know it’s a huge hassle but I think you should set an alarm and take your pill at 4:20am on weekends too or switch to a lower maintenance method like Ortho Evra, the patch, www.orthoevra.com or NuvaRing, the ring, www.nuvaring.com where you don't have to take a pill every day. <<

As far as me taking the pill, I really am considering setting my alarm on the weekends ( or Sunday as I have been working on Saturdays as of late) and taking my pill. Do you know how much it effects the pill not taking it at the same time every day? Right now I am not looking for a long term bc. We are planning to start having kids in the next 2 years...maybe sooner then that. I never have a problem remembering to take the pill, it is just I fall asleep and am so tired that I sleep in way longer then I have intented to.

I will be sure to keep you posted on everything. I hope your day is going well.
