Ovulating on OTC-lo?

Hi all, I just joined. I have a question. I just started Ortho Tricyclen-Lo 2 weeks ago, and I've taken it religiously everyday so I should be at near-perfect protection. Now, I was under the impression that HBC inhibited ovulation, but yesterday after I used the potty I noticed my normal stringy discharge, which typically coincides with ovulation. I'm just finishing treatment for a yeast infection, but it's nothing at all like the other discharge I've had lately, and it's around the right time for me to be ovulating, so I'm really confused. Am I ovulating despite taking the pill perfectly? Am I not protected? I've heard elsewhere that my body could be "going through the motions", releasing ovulation-style discharge without actually ovulating... but today I've had really bad cramping, especially in the right side.
I've had this pain since my last cycle, never had mid-cycle pain before that, and my gyno said that my right ovary was enlarged but nothing to be worried about, and that the HBC would make it go away. He didn't do an ultrasound or anything, which I was slightly skeptical of (it was my first time seeing him, so there's no history, but my mom said he would be "remiss" if he didn't order an ultrasound to be safe). Should I call him and ask these questions, and mention that the pain is still here? The cramping feeling has been pretty obnoxious today, and coupled with my worries about ovulation and not being protected, I'm not a happy camper!
Thanks in advance!
PS - I've had a headache all day, could that be related?

Hi
Jill
Thanks a lot! I'm glad to know others experience the same thing, it's quite disconcerting! I'm calling the doctor first thing tomorrow.
