Stopping period...

I've heard that you can prolong your time without a period by starting another month's pack of birth control pills right after you finish the first one. Is this safe for a one time go???
Thanks!

It's perfectly safe.

Some women can skip multiple periods with no problem. Other women still have some spotting when trying to skip even one. So if you are trying to skip just start the new pack instead of taking the sugar pills. You may have some BTB though, it's different for every woman.

I'm on Tri-Cyclen, 21 day pills. I'm a little confused about how I'd go about skipping my period, do I just start a new pack the day after my last one from the old one?

Oh, so it's 2 packs at one time? How come it's not just finish one pack, then directly move to another at the time when you should have your period? Does this other way just stop you from getting it for another couple weeks since you take the second pack with the first, even though you finish them together then are taking nothing?
Sorry if my questions are kind of confusing!!

Okay so sorry to be a bother lol but is it like this:

Pack 1, white pills - week one
Pack 2, white pills - week two
Pack 1, light blue - week three
Pack 2, light blue - week four
Pack 1, dark blue - week five
Pack 2, dark blue - week six

Then off week seven to get period, then back to normal pill taking?
I'm so sorry, I just want to make sure I get it right!

Okay I think I got it! lol Thanks :)

So I'm approching the end of my pack, meaning I get my period next week. Does that mean I have to bleed this upcoming week before starting the skipping cycle, or can I just jump into the skipping right after this pack is done?
