Thanks for the reply!

I just realized each Alesse was .01 mcg of the progestin. The Mirena is .02mcg...which is double the amount. NO THANK YOU!!!

I guess you can tell I am still on the hunt for the lowest product possible. I am NOT convinced that Nuvaring is it.

I just want to amke sure I got this right....

For progestin:

Alesse .1mg
Nuvaring .12mg (which is a little higher than Alesse)
Mirena 20mcg (which is about 1/5 of the first 2)

Do I have it now???

I agree 100%. But I did great on Alesse for years...which is the same progestin as Mirena.
I think its important fact for my system that even though Alesse had a weaker activity level, they use less than Nuvaring which is much stronger. I was hoping the opposite was true...that since the progestin in Nuvaring is stronger than the product would contain less of it. While I love Nuvaring (Idont have expulsion or UTI issues), and despite all the 'ultra low dose' references, it seems to be a stronger and weightier progestin product than Alesse. I dont like the idea of an IUD. But its about 1/5 the progestin as Alesse & Nuvaring...Right???

The progestin is the same with Mirena & Alesse...so there arent activity level discrepancies. But Mirena seems to be 1/5 the amount.

Is my math wrong?? Am I confusing MG with MCG again???

My Dr has left me with...
Mirena...probably less weight issues but will have bleeding issues
Nuvaring...weight issues but system runs like clockwork and less invasive.
