Hi,

I just recently got off of Yaz... Aug 31 was my last pill. I was on it for 4 months and had numerous side effects (depression, anxiety, crying fits, sore breasts, no libido.. theres more just cant think of it but you get the jist of it).

Anyways I was just wondering how long it takes for your body to get back to normal and for your normal hormones to regulate. Also wondering when you ovulate again and if you get your period at a normal time. I have to go back to using condoms but im so crazy with

TCOYF is your friend......when I stopped using Nuvaring for two months last spring, I got the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (and have since lent it to a girlfriend who just stopped the pill).

Hey.. So I was actually at the book store yesterday reading Taking charge of your fertility!! And after feeling overwhelmed by it, put it back on the shelf and walked out!!! It just seems so complicated and theres so many little things to know that I feel like its not cut and dry and I'd be risking too much. But then again if I do use condoms the entire time at least it can let me know when im ovulating so im not worrying the rest of the month. I hear its really easy once you get the hang of it, but once I read the whole chapter on natural birth control I was so confused I said forget it!! Then the whole part of checking your secretions, I feel like i'd be obsessing about whatever came out of me everyday. Idk maybe I should actually give it a shot!!

Thanks,

luna

Hey Luna,

I'm so glad to hear you say that about Yaz...I understand! I took it for a while and I felt the same. I have gone off the pill too after using different types for years. My periods are yet to return & I have no idea why they haven't returned or what to expect. Thanks for your message. BeeDee.

Thanks.. I think i'll give it a shot.. I mean it cant hurt as long as im using condoms. And if I have a good idea on when I ovulate I wont have to obsess about something happening to the condom any other time of the month. I would MUCH rather be taking the pill but for now that's gonna be on the back burner. I feel sooo much better off of it.

Hi,

It's been about 3 months of not taking it at all. I spoke to my local doctor and he said it can take 6 months to even a year for some people before their period returns!

I thought that sounded like a long time. It's so hard to hear that & be patient with it all. I'm thinking of seeing a Gyno about it or should I just wait? Not sure.

Thanks,
BeeDee.
