Hi ladies,

I've never been to this board before, but wanted to post my experience with Mirena in case anyone is having issues with it.

I had Mirena put in 6 weeks after the birth of my second son (May 2008).

Some women are very sensitive to hormones of any kind. Typically the Mirena doesn't cause problems because it's progesterone only and fairly localized (I love my Mirena and had it almost 3 years now). Each woman's body is different though.

It takes most women about 3 months to get used to a new form of birth control pill, or even a brand change, so every time you change brands you start the 3 months over :(

There are members that have posted here that can't use ANY form of hormonal birth control because their bodies are so sensitive to it. I suggest picking up a copy of Taking Charge Of Your Fertility and maybe natural family planning is more in the cards for you (this is NOT the rhythm method).
