So I started a group on this website for the base we are headed to in a week in hopes of being able to connect to people like us.

Have you already checked out MAAF?

How long ago did you create the site? I created a group for local atheists and it took months to get off the ground but now we meet every month and have new people showing up regularly. I actually had to hand it off to someone else because it was too much work with a newborn, but it's still going strong.

Good luck!

I don't think you should give up.

Rayven,
I hope you don't quit just yet. It takes at least a year of a new endeavor of this nature to find out if it really will work. It is frustrating! Maddening. Depressing. But, eventually, you will be found! (I hope!)
You need it and others in your area need it...so, if you can, hold on a while longer!
I'm pulling for you!
Peace,
Karen

P.S. On the other hand, if you need to take a break from it for now...do!

At the risk of seeming FAR TOO SAPPY...((((HUGS!!!!!!!!)))

Hey - I'm a regular lurker here. This is a great board and I have learned a lot from you ladies and it makes me feel good that there are people out there that are open minded enough to accept others regardless of whether I go to church etc., ykwim?

Anyway, I see in your profile that you are in ND. Are you leaving here in a week or coming here? Just wondering, I'm in ND (although not military) and I don't run across a whole lot of ND people on iVillage. ;o)

The forum group was started about a week ago, and I'm probably expecting too much. But I was really hoping it would be like the Chrisitan or conserative groups with people so eager to join. I haven't started the UU site yet, I'm working on the design and planning to launch in the next few weeks once we get settled in our new home.

It's for UU's, Atheist/Agnostics, religious liberals, or just secular families and liberals.

We were in ND, we are in the process of moving overseas. It would have been so nice to have known you were there!

Oh dang! Lucky you - getting out of NoDak! :o) I hope you can get your group organized because that sounds like a great idea. Sometimes it takes people time to "come out of the woodwork".

Thanks. It's the time thing that I'm going to have to come to terms with.
