Perhaps more simply:
If God is perfect, then he'd create a perfect thing. If his creation is perfect, why does he need to meddle with it?

I don't find this a really compelling argument. People who believe in god believe he gave people free will. Also if he created everything, he created people and people aren't perfect.

The best argument I ever heard is the question of evil. That explains my lack of belief better than anything. In case you haven't heard it, it goes like this..The problem follows with the belief that God is omnipotent, omniscient and all good while at the same time evil exists. God either cannot stop evil or he will not. If he cannot then he is argued to not be omnipotent. If he will not then he is argued to not be all good.

Guili, I love that and plan to use it! I had not heard that argument but it is a perfect summation and argument stopper. Thanks !!
