The "clown car" picture is HILARIOUS!

I get what Jim Bob is trying to say in that gratuitous sexual, drug or violent content can be a bad thing. However, to call all sexual content 'pornography' is quite the ignorant statement.

While pornography, drug abuse and violence do indeed destroy families and lives it isnt the act of watching these things within the content of a film that causes them to occur in people's lives. Agreed that in some cases, seeing it this way isn't helpful, but to suggest that all movies that have this type of content only do so for the sake of money making in addition to their being responsible for 'destroying souls' is, in my opinion, a bit of a skewed viewpoint.

I dont think one can sum up societies ills in a neat little package like that. How nice for him that he doesnt have enough experience with such things in his life to have an informed opinion. I hope for his sake that it stays that way.

I agree.

I look at movies and Tv the same way I look at books.

One thing I forgot to mention is that Kirk Cameron was on the show.

I agree with him to a point. Obviously I don't buy the destroying the soul part, but I do think there is too much sex/drugs/violence on tV and in the movies. It's making our kids immune to it and that's not good. But I don't think those movies shouldn't be made. I think parents need to be more aware of what they are letting their kids watch. It is possible to have a non-christian movie with non-violent themes. :)

What is my opinion?
My opinion is that parents know what their children can handle and what they can't handle. Of course we all made these decision for our children without getting a sound bite on it.
Do I think that the film industry makes certain movies to make money, Yes.
Do I think these movies kill our soul. Of course not.
Do I see the horror movies, no.
Did I see "Left Behind"...NO. I read the first book and thought it was a nightmare and wouldn't touch it!
Mostly, I think he is entitled to his opinion but I don't have to consider him an authority in any way simply because...lots of other rude things deleted...he has many children.

Peace,
karen

Ditto this. There's no black and white here.

HAHA! My husband me about that picture. I thought he was joking. You know what is sad though, they have brainwashed their kids so much that their oldest rushed into a marriage with a girl he barely knew. And now they are expecting a baby and planning on letting god have the say in how many kids they have.

This is where being a responsible adult and parent comes in.
