When did you all stop hanging out in the bathroom while your child is in the tub? Cole is 5 and has started Kindergarten (sigh) and last night during bathtime I started thinking of stuff around the house I wanted to go get or go do while he played.

I don't stay IN the bathroom the whole time, usually I hang out in my bedroom which connects to the bathroom and keep him in my line of vision. I know he is big enough to not slip under the water by accident but when are they big enough to leave alone in the tub for say 2-5 minutes?

I dont want to be over protective but I dont want to take stupid chances either. What are your thoughts?

My son is 6. I've been leaving him alone in the bathtub for a few minutes (nothing major, I was always just a few steps away) since he was 4. Now, he is pretty much on his own in the bathtub. I come in and check on him, but he can handle bathtime on his own now. He actually prefers to take showers, but he still loves to spend some time in the bathtub.
