So, a few days ago, I tried the Maya Wrap again. She has enough support now to where I thought she could handle the kangaroo hold. Somehow, magically, I got her in. She didn't cry (or fall out LOL), and she seemed to actually like it. The last few days, I've been able to clean the house, go on walks, and go out with her in the sling. (She even smiles and waves her arms when she sees it.) We don't take the stroller with us when we go out. Funny how having your baby even *closer* to you can actually be liberating. :-)
But, I was thinking tonight as I was feeling her in it: Is the kangaroo hold also bad for the back of the baby? I just realized she's all balled up in there with her knees at her chest, which she doesn't seem to mind, but it seems like all of her weight is right on her tailbone and lower back. Does anybody know if this is an issue? Or is it different because of the way she's in there (maybe all of her weight isn't in that one spot since she's not actually *sitting* on it like she would be in the Snugli). Any information or links anybody might have would help. I love my sling (finally), but I want to make sure I'm not "damaging" her with it.
Sorry this ended up being so long. TIA for any info.
