Best way to gain confidence slinging?

What is the best way to get comfortable using a sling and gain enough confidence at it so that I will not transmit my nervousness about it to my baby? So far she has really not enjoyed her carriers but then again I wasn't really sure what I was doing and I could tell she wasn't placed correctly the first few times and it took some adjusting. In the mean time, she really screamed at me so I would keep taking her out. I ordered some slings and I really really want to use them, and I want to make sure she gets comfortable in them easily, without lots of screaming and crying.

Should I always take her out if she starts crying, or try and see if she'll settle down?

Should I sit with her in it and do lots of breastfeeding so she associates the two?

Should I just go about my normal activities, throwing in some vacuuming, dishwashing to calm her down if she seems fussy?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Ugh, I'm nervous already. lol

First off, try not to be nervous about it...the baby will sense it.
