After all, of this mornings crazy antics, I received a phone call from a very overwhelmed daughter. My oldest daughter and her husband just bought their first home and she was just so overwhelmed by the sight of so many boxes. Today she did not have the help like she had over the weekend. So, I agreed to pack up the little ones and drive the hour and a half drive to their new home. Armed with four children’s sing- a- long CDs water and several cans of chicken noodle soup I headed up to her place. About 45 min. into the drive as Raffi is belting out “I’ve been working on the railroad,” I experience an anxiety attack coming on. It’s coming and it going to be a big one. An anxiety attack here in the car pool lane with Raffi singing, how dare it!! To me, someone who for eleven years drove ever day for hour’s pet sitting this was crazy. As I check in my rearview mirror, I see two angelic faces sing with Raffi and knew that I must take control and fast. There is no way that I could cross four lanes of traffic and make it to the shoulder in time to control it, I had to do this in the car pool lane. It is amazing but true the words that Trac wrote to me just last Fri jump out at me and said, “Breath in for the count of five and out to the count of five.” Then Traci’s chat room post flashed in front of my face; “little sips of water helped me.” I reach over to the sit next to me and find the bottle of water there and with little sip and the breathing, by God it works. I had several more bouts of anxiety on the way but I did manage to arrive at my daughter’s safe and sound with the two little ones singing to Raffi with no clue that there mother was having problems.
I decided to share this story with you, to show you just how much we really do impact each other’s lives. We help each other when we need it most, so please share with each other your experiences you never know what you may say to another that may help them some day. In addition, when you are traveling in a vehicle and you come up behind someone and they may not be driving the way that you think they should, just be aware that you may not know what is happening in the mind of the other driver, so please cut them a little slack.
I am writing to you tonight because of a very caring man, my husband and his parents drove up to my daughter’s and my husband drove the little ones and I home.
Please remember to share your experiences, they help in more ways then you may know.
Lots of positive thoughts, cyber hugs all around and look everyday for the humor in life.
Warmest Regards,
