Any ideas for depression but......

not having the means to paying for them. I was laid off in June. I no longer have health insurance and the money I do get is going towrds bills. I no longer see my therapist and psychiatrist and can't afford the meds I was on. I had just switched from 50mg. of Zoloft and BuSpar and went to 50mg.? Lamictal. Anhyhow, I am so stressed about not having a job and unemployment running out. I am 25 and don't have a lot of financial resources to turn to. Plus on top of that my relationship with my boyfriend is suffering because I am having major intimacy issues. I am very edgy, don't want to do anything but sleep, take everything SOOO personally and am very defensive and feel like I need to lose 10 pounds and am failing on top of everything else.

Does anyone know of any herbal supplements or ANYTHING that might be able to help me. I know exercise would help and I am trying to get back to the gym but that is just another thing that is terribly hard to get myself to do without thinking of a million other things I should be doing - like looking for a job or sleeping. I know it sounds pathetic. My bf thinks it is an attitude I can change. And partly he is right but i just am not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thoughts, please!!!!!

Sweetie, is there a county run clinic near you? That's what I use here in VA. They will usually work with you and put you on a sliding/scale for payments. I've also heard a lot about Catholic Services. Trac mentions them and another one. She'll probably have some better advice for you. It's important for you to get back into treatment somehow. You've come to the right place and I'm sure someone here will be able to point you in the right direction. I'm sorry that things are so rough for you right now but keep reminding yourself that you will get through this. You are Important and You Matter!!!!Hang in there honey:-)

Kandace, I would look into getting into a study in your area. I have been in many studies, been trying every drug on the market. None have yet helped. I am in another study. None of them tried any meds that were not on the market. So they were all safer than safe. Just an idea. They usually advertise on the radio and you can call your local college.

Just a thought.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.

Take care,

Lisa-)

Kandace...what a pretty name.

Call your doctor, (you do not need an office visit) ask him/her to set you up in the "indigent program" with the manufacturers of Zoloft, BuSpar and any other meds you were and should be on. You should have no problem qualifying while you are unemployed. Then ask the doctor for some trial bottles until your meds from the manufacturers come in. They will come to your doctors office and you can pick them up there.

Use the resources your physician has available. That's why they are there.

Check for jobs on line with your local newspapers. Most larger towns have their newspapers on line, classifieds and all. Try to make your appointments fairly early in the day. That way you can use that time to get your body moving and motivated.

Make a commitment with yourself or perhaps a good friend, to do a certain number of job applications a day....once again, starting in the mornings. Then FORCE yourself to stick with it. Being productive can increase your self esteem at this time.

Once you get regulated back on to your meds, you should be able to concentrate better.
