Just Dont Know

Hi, Im new to this board, but I just had to post

I am feeling really bad today and dont know quite what to do about it.

Its a Saturday night and here I am again, home alone staring at my computer, I am 44, single, never married, no children, havent been on a date in years. The main thing with that is I dont know why I am never asked out on dates.....I am told that I am a classic beauty.....I see, some days sorta cute, I am 5'4" average size clothing (10), have and keep friends for years guys and girls alike am told I am a good person and fun to be with because I am easy going and love to laugh although I do tend to be quieter than others.

So if my biggest downfall apparently is that I am quiet what the heck is the problem? I know lots of quieter and shy people that have been in many a normal relationship. Is there something that all women do when they meet a man to state what they want?

I am the most single person I know, but thats just part of the problem

I am unemployed due to a sleep disorder, I just am unable to work on a daily schedule day or night, Ive tried all types of jobs and shifts to no avail, I end up quitting because I am too tired and too irritated with the people I work with......not them personally just the routine of it?? I get along with almost everyone I meet really

Question, why am I terminally single, and what am I going to do with my life or should I say lack of

I spend most of my time alone, a big week I will go and do stuff for my mom but other than that its just me and my computer/tv or book

What is wrong with me?

Welcome to the board! Glad to meet you.

I, too, and single. I am 25 and have only ever had one boyfriend.

I think alot of times I don't get noticed because I am so quiet. Even when I get introduced to people, they don't remember me if we meet again. I have been told that it could be because of being quiet. I take things too personally, I think. Maybe this is your problem too?

Anyway, hope you stick around.

Take care

Pamela

Hi all

Thank you for your replies,

I am feel much better now......its amazing what a little sleep will do for you. Im on the 20+ hours up, and 3 hours sleep schedule this week so it affects a lot of things. Today I got a whole 4 and a half hours sleep....woohoo.....LOL

Anyway, in reply to your posts....

Pamela: I never really thought of that, of being not noticed in that regard, people tend to remember me and I dont remember them so I guess thats why........I have a really bad memory.....lol Maybe that is part of it, I havent said anything to pique their interest or memory?

Tracy: I always wonder, in the back of my head, what signals I am putting out, if any...lol I cant go the therapy route due to lack of funds, but I am going to ask my close girlfriends about this.....if anyone has noticed the "touch me not wall" it would be them for sure, known these girls for over 20 years now, thru them being married, single, married, single.......lol

Barb: Yes I have already gone to the sleep disorder boards, have been thru the whole diagnosis trail with a sleep clinic and a neurologist......Its been diagnosed as "Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome"...... with one so called cure that worked once but hasnt worked again....its much like insomnia whereas I cant sleep, but the main difference is lights/daylight is my best time to get sleep....much like a vampire....lol The sleep clinic tried light therapy on me a way back to try and turn around my light response, but it made me worse......lol Now if I am shopping for example....and there are a lot of bright lights I start yawning and am drained.......usually the sales people end up telling me "go home and sleep, youre making me tired"......LOL I cant count how many times people I dont know have said this to me........roflmbo

Well you girls have been a great help, I think I will be around here a lot.....lol

Very good points, lots to think about

The thing is, I am very single but when I get enough sleep I am pretty happy about it all, I am not the type that worries about being alone in the years to come, But I do wonder what the heck is up with it, I always need to know WHY

Thanks again

Youve helped ALOT

Welcome hun!

Doesnt sound like there is anything "wrong" with you sweetie,, you just havent met the right person yet.. I would suggest though that you try and get out more to be around people even if its not a job.. and it doesnt have to be places where you need to be loud or outgoing.. You need to meet people who share the same interests and life style as you do..

What do you like to do?

*hugs
