((((Trac)))) I haven't had the energy to read any postings lately, so I'm not sure what's going on. Whatever it is, I am sorry that it is causing you so much stress. I'll send you hugs and good wishes along with an angel or two that things will straighten out for you soon. Debbie

Trac,

I'm so sorry that you are in this position. It sounds like you never had this problem with the people who lived under you before. What do you think the difference is? Can you move your computer into the living room? Then you can be on it and have dogs around you. Don't you work most of the night, anyway? Are you home that much during the hours that they downstairs folks will be sleeping.

It isn't worth it to get yourself worried about this. You can take precautions, like maybe moving the computer or putting a bench by the bed for the dogs to use to get off the bed. Then just live your life. You aren't bothering them anymore than they are bothering you, right?

You have as much right to live your life as they do. You can take reasonable precautions, but don't have to stop living.

That's my opinion, anyway.

Take Care,

MariaC

i don't know the exact situation, but i agree with maria about taking reasonable precations but living your life. if someone is upset about noise (which is what i am thinking) they will need to learn to deal with it if they are living in close quarters. i live in a huge highrise in the middle of downtown- you want to laugh at the (loud) noises that i hear every day? woken up usually to construction, if not the guy upstairs playing his grand piano, neighbors in the hallway, car horns, sirens, sometimes people screaming... and you know what? i get more used to it all the time and only once in awhile do i dream of living in a soundproof house in the middle of the country. i got earplugs and learned that this is the cost of living in the city- they can deal with it too. if i am guessing wrong about the problem, i hope at the very least i amused you. don't feel trapped, just know you are doing hte best you can and allow yourself to not feel the need to hide in your own space. (this toughness of mine is courtesy of my new city self that had to deal or else wake up and go to sleep to my panic attacks!) :)

Trac have you talked with these people? I mean expain your situation and tell them if they make an effort to be quiet when you work, you will make an effort for them.

And if not...it's on! lol

I agree that you need to live your life. Although I hate it when people are making alot of noise when I try to sleep, I think that you have rights too.

Take care

Pamela
