Memory and ECT

Hi everyone. I had major problems this morning getting to the rooms they do the ECT in. When I had had ECT before (about a year and a half ago) I didn't have any memory problems. Actually I didn't have any problems at all. Except of course for the fact that it didn't work and it cost a lot! Anyway, since I can't drive on ECT days due to the anesthetic, my husband drops me off and then returns to pick me up about an hour and a half later. This morning, he dropped me off and I walked into the hospital ---but it was like I had never been there before. I could not find my way thru the halls to the room I needed. It was terrible. Why didn't I ask someone? Because I was too embarrassed to go up to someone and tell them why I was there. I wandered around for quite awhile and by the time I found the right door---I was all upset and the nurse made me sit for awhile and calm down. Then this afternoon I was laying in the family room and the phone rang. The phone closest to the family room is a cordless and has the answering machine with it. The machine picked up before I got to the phone and then I couldn't remember how to turn the machine off. I know these are just silly little things, but they are so frustrating. When my doctor called this afternoon, he told me not to worry that any memory lapses I had would go away. Oh well, I'm off to bed now. I've slept off and on most of the day---but I just get so tired.
