Seeing my Doctor Tomorrow...help!
| Thu, 12-11-2003 - 4:28pm |
I made an appointment with my general physician for tomorrow. I am due for yearly blood work check-up, so I used that as my "excuse" and then just told the nurse I also had a few questions for my doctor.
I have never seen a doctor for depression, I think I have just silently lived with it for years now. I am so scared about talking to him. I don't know what to say. I am afraid he'll just dismiss me and think my symptoms are trivial.
Please help me....what do I say exactly to him? How do I bring up the subject??? I am really thinking about cancelling the appointment, I am that afraid!

Do not be afraid at all there is nothing to be acred of.
When you go see your doctor before the exam tell him/her how you have been feeling and going thru ask for their imput they usually do an exam anyways to rule out anything physical that may be causeing you to feel this way let them know that you have felt like this for a long time didnt know what to do ect...
they will not pass jusdgement on you at all and will probably refer you to someone who can better help you.
When I first went to my pdoc I was scared out of my mind but now it is normal for me to go once a month and I look forward to therapy every wednesday.
this is a great thing that you are doing be proud not scred and good luck let us all know how it goes.
