Barb,

"Thanks for noticin'" Yea, my boys are all high-functioning auties. And, yea, I've really been fighting the school system, studying the laws and trying to get them to comply. Recently filed a formal complaint against the school. They denied any wrong doing, so I sent a request for a repeal. I get squeaky when it comes to my boys. I'm working on a FAPE Conference for our area educators for April. There are 3 speakers lined up so far. It'll be great if I can pull it off. The schools wouldn't provide speech or OT therapies or writing disability testing, so we are paying for the testing and therapies ourselves. They wouldn't provide teachers who knew about their disabilities. I told my 5th grader's teacher that he was capable of injuring himself or others if he was overwhelmed. She sent home 7 pages of homework (overwhelming to a normal child), and my son threw the papers on the table and started slamming his head on the table, hard. He did it 12 times before I could stop him. And his area of greatest strength was math. But in the first 2 months of school my son did 13 math objectives while hiw peers did 39. The teacher said, "well, I've got 30 other students I can't sit there and make sure he's doing his work." They refused to let him have an aide--even when I volunteered. Well, that gives you an idea of why we homeschool.

Been able to get out and be with the girls the past couple days and it has improved my attitude a bit. I didn't know that if you're in a stressful situation for a long time it changes your brain chemestry. It does make sense, though. I've tried lots of different anti-depressants, and they all make things worse. Then I tried a free bottle of "Focus Factor" vitamins, and it really made me feel great. Only problem is that you have to come up with $150 to buy a 3 month supply. So I looked at what was in Focus Factor and have tried to come up with my own vitamin mix--for a lot less money. Will have to give it some time to see how it works. Just got them 2 days ago.

Can you tell me how to find the suicide board on the health channel? As much as I don't want to, I need to live.

Thanks for the prayers.

A
