I don't know how many of you watch Oprah, but the other day she had one about what she did last year for Christmas. She went to Africa and gave toys to so many little girls and boys toys and clothes. It sure put a new perspective on how much we all take for granted.

Pamela,

I saw that show the other day. You're right, it does put things in perspective. We get so caught up in what we don't have, but as Americans and Canadians, we have so much. We have all the necessities of life, plus a very high standard of living. The kings of previous centuries didn't live as well as middle and even lower middle class Americans do. We have clean, comfortable homes, indoor plumbing, heat, air conditioning, electricity, healthcare and amazing medicine. We have toothbrushes and dental care, which allow us to keep our original teeth for life. No one used to keep their teeth before a hundred years ago. Of all of these things, I'm most thankful for indoor plumbing!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on the board!

Love,

Pamela,

I'm not a big Oprah fan - never really have been.

but i was stuck at home with nothing else to do & stopped on the station on which her show was running and began watching and got sucked in (if you will).

I haven't seen an Oprah show in probably 6 years or so, and I must admit, this was probably the best. I know she's become more spiritual in her shows and shares quite a bit (have some friends who talk about her show often). But it was definitely an awesome show!

I also think it's great that she's got a link on her website too that one can visit to donate money!

a not-so-oprah-fan fan,

S.
