Something to think about...

I am currently reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom. (I know as a teacher, I should underline the title, but I don't know how on this page!) Anywhoo...it IS just as fabulous as everyone says, and gives a lot of great insights for myself, and probably a lot of people dealing with depression. It's not super sad (Although I'm only half way through it right now) as you may think. Just puts a LOT of insight on this man's life, however, it applys to everyone. I thought I'd share a few quotes with you that I have found really meaningful.

"...all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time."

"It is because the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect."

The best one so far....

"No life is a waste, the Blue man said." "The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we spend thinking we're alone.

Just thought I'd give you all some "deep thoughts" to ponder! I know they left a meaningful impact on me.

Hope you all are having a good one...as for me, I've been lurking on the board...sorry. Things are pretty stressful for me. Just laying low for a while. I hope you all are well, and I'm thinking about you all!

Love you all much!

Trix,

Thanks for the inspiration.

I've heard of the book, but never read it.

I'm secretly one of those ppl who has too much pride to do "self-help" stuff - SHHH! don't tell! *laugh*

anyway, great quotes & keep 'em coming.

we all need those little rays of sunshine wherever/whenever we can get 'em!

Thanks!

Sue.

Hey, just to let you know, it's a fiction book...not self help. But, I guess that if you apply it to your life, it is a self help book! Never thought about that!

Thanks, Trixie! My mom got me that book for Christmas and I hadn't heard much about it, so you've got me more interested now!

*hugs*

You just helped me decide, I am going to buy this book! I have actually been wanting to get it, I was afraid it might make me more depressed, since I have lost several family members in the past few years, but I think it may actually help me to accept it better, if that makes any sense! I am having surgery in a few weeks and will have time to read while I am recovering, so this is going on my list of things to get!! Thanks so much for sharing!
