Ladies I really need some advice tips ect....

I have decided to go back up to springfield mass, for new years ever and come home on thursday afternoon so I do not miss work on friday...

Problwm is I do not have one nice dress to wear at all most of my dresses are for the summer and short, love my legs always showing them off short..

Now this new years I want to really go all out hair make up dress shoes ect the whole nine yards thing is I do not know where to begin I do not like long dresses on me being short and all even if I wear heels it just doesnt suit my style...

I also have long hair and wear it down all the time I am afraid to wear it up and out of my face afraid I will look horrible, I have been told I look better with it out of my face but none the less still wont go there but I figure it cant hurt to try something different.

I was thinking of wearing my hair up and a short but nice dress and heels

so any help suggestion advice papaerbags would be great..

thanks ladies..

Erin,

You've come to the right place. Makeovers are my specialty! Dressing up is super fun.

I wish I could see a picture of you to tell you better what would look best on you.

You have said you have green eyes. So make sure that you wear either a green dress,

or a green blouse with a short (above the knee) skirt. You are right that since your legs

are so great, you should make the most of them. Chandelier earring are big right now.

They are perfect for New Year's Eve. If you don't have any and can't borrow some from a

friend or your sister, check out Target and JCPenney's. I've found gorgeous ones there for

around $10 or $12.

As for lipstick and eye shadow color, I don't know your coloring. But for evening you definitely

want something more dramatic on your lips. If your hair is lighter, I recommend

the color "Captive" by MAC. If you have very dark hair, then "Odyssey" by MAC is excellent.

Most women look gorgeous with taupe eyeliner. For dramatic eyes, put a light pink or

mauve eye shadow from the lash up to the brow. Then put a taupe/smoky brown shadow

just above the crease. Most women put it in the crease, but if you put it just above the crease

it opens your eyes.

If you really want to do something spectacular, you can use this great trick. Get some pure

white eyeliner and line the inside of your lower eyelid with white. You know how people

used to line the inner eye with blue or black in the 80s? Don't do that! It makes your

eyes look small and squinty. But if you line that part with white, it makes your eyes look

huge! It's gorgeous. But it's not a trick for day. You have to do it for night, so it isn't

obvious.

If you have any pictures of yourself, feel free to email them to me. Then I can give you

suggestions tailored to you. As you know, I used to model. All my friends love to get

makeovers from me. I love to shop for other people and do their makeup and hair. I

think it's super fun!

All My Love,

oh! i love this! i agree with everything maria says (i always seem to! :) ) and wanted to add my two cents because i love giving make overs too! for the dress, i would add that basic black always works- and if you love your legs go short and make sure to wear glam heels! i used to date a guy who lived outside of boston (towards providence) and i remember there being an unbelievable outlet mall- but i don't know where that is in relation to springfield. it had bcbg, versace, barneys, everything! if you don't usually put your hair up and don't have anyone to do it for you, maybe try straightening it and then curling spiral curls. if you are going to be near a department store with good makeup counters go to mac, nars, chanel, bobbi brown, or dior makeup counter and say that you want to buy some stuff but you would like them to show you how to apply it. if it is late enough in the day, have them do your makeup- MINUS the mascara and put that on later so as not to have it running. have fun!
