something wrong w/me(not a trig,promise)

so there is something wrong with me. for the last three years or more i have been so much worse with the depression and the being tired all of the time. i kept telling my primary doctor about how i was feeling. he discounted me as depressed, recommended accupunture. so time goes forward, still feeling bad. primary doc checked my thyroid, said the routine tests were fine, no need to test further. long story short, so as not to bore you all so much, i went to a specialist my dad suggested. he ran more tests and turns out there is something wrong with me. i have hashimoto's thyroiditis disease. i am sick. strange thing to be happy about, but atleast there is something there to explain why at 24 all i want to do is sleep. all i want to do is not do anything. why i am so cold all of the time and can't stand the heat either. oh, and i am also anemic. so a dr i have seen twice has already found these things and the dr i had been seeing for almost 4 years found nothing. urgh!! i am starting the medicine tonight for the thyroid, so hopefully i will start feeling better. just wanted to share with you all. sending hugs to all of you.

I have been tired for 25 years, but I have had all these tests done and apparently nothing is wrong. I might look up what you have.
Thanks for sharing.
Pamela
I am glad to hear that you looked into things further I know I sound a little strange saying this but I am glad that you have thyroid problems but maybe that is causing your depression all along.
I am glad that you went to the Dr. your dad told you about and I hope that all works out well for you.

thanks for your reply. go to your dr and get checked out. if your TSH and t3/t4 come back okay, have your dr check your thyroid antibodies. hashimotos sometimes hides for quite a while before showing in the basic thyroid tests. my tsh and t3/t4 have always been fine, but my antibodies are all out of wack. turns out depression is a symptom of hypothyroidism. who knew?!? best wishes.
thank you for your well wishes. i appreciate it. it is sort of relief to find out it may not be all in my head. i will keep everyone updated on how the medication works out. thanks again. best wishes.
I am so happy for you!
