Hi there,

I'm Kimmie, I'm a 28 year old married mother of one that has been struggling with depression for the better part of my life since puberty. My goal for 2004 is to come off my meds and find a way to deal with my depression without drugs as I am planning to have baby #2 in 2005.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Welcome to the board (((((Kimmie)))))

Ohhhhh...I am Canadian too! There aren't too many of us on here. Can I ask where you are from? I am from Manitoba.

I have been dealing with depression for as far back as I can remember. It is certainly no fun!

If you are going to go off your meds, please consult your doctor. Some of them are pretty hard to come off of. I am on Paxil and it is awful to go off of.

I hope to hear more from you and get to know you better Kimmie.

Take care

Pamela

Hey Kimmie,

welcome to the board,

I think those are great goals to shoot for in the new year and you sound so positive about them that I am sure you will be able to achieve that goal..

Welcome again post often

and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Thank you for the warm welcome all. I have discussed with my doctor about coming off the meds and will work with him in order to do so. I am on 75mg of effexor XR a day currently and will probably stay that way until the winter is over as I suffer from SAD and I don't want to try weaning while there is no sunlight!!

Pamela, I'm just outside of Toronto!

Barb, Erin and Caly thanks for welcoming me!

I am trying to be positive about my goals, but like with anything my mood can change by the day and tommorrow I could be wishing myself into an early grave. :) I find that it's hard to get support from those that have never had depression and that is why I've sought out this board.

:) Kimmie
