I am new to the board and hope to get some support --info---
I have suffered from depression for over 20 years---I am 50 now---in 2002 my husband was killed in a car accident (long story)---
I started having tremors, numbess in hand and arm--heat intolerance---cognitive problems among many other things--I have had an MRI--spinal tap--EMG--neuro/psych testing/ and recently ears and eyes testing for Vertigo (sorry forgot the name of the test) Some of this is checking for MS or PD or other things. I have seen 4 neuro's in the last year, first one possible MS---Then PCP thought PD---3 one gave me Fibromylogia, restless legs and carpal tunnel--the last one (after legs collasping on me the 3 neuro said he had done all he could do) so he sent me yet to another one--who told me my depression is causing all these problems---I don't agree--my counsler does not agree, my psychiatrist does not agree. I think my PCP is finely getting it that something is wrong. After falling from a server Vertigo epsiode.
So my question: How many have other health problems along with the depression--do you believe the depression has caused this.
Some Doc's have given me the dx's of (somatoform diease) or conversion disorder--where you cause or make your self sick.
I agree, stress, grief, depression, can bring these things out in you body if they are there and make things worse---but I don't agree that we make out selfs feel this way.
any help would be greatly appreciated---I hope this is not too long
God Bless
Donna

Welcome to the board Donna.
I think that many times, DR's who don't know what to say will blame depression for a lot of things.
I agree with Trac, I have other illnesses, but I don't think depression has caused any.
I hope to get to know you better.
Pamela
I myself think all things can be made to relate if you play "6 degrees of seperation"
*hugs
Welcome, ((((((Donna)))))))!
