I'm sending you lots of hugs !! We had to have our 18 year old dog 'Muffin' put to sleep in July. We had had her since she was 6 weeks old. It's a very, very hard thing to do. My husband took it very hard too. Give your husband some extra hugs. I'll be thinking of you and your husband and son.
I am so, so sorry for you and your husband and your dog, Caly...I remember losing pets when I was just a kid, and it felt like the world was ending. I will be thinking of you today and during your visit to the vet tomorrow...and hoping that you all will be able to come to what feels like the right solution, even if it is a tragic and hard one. When I lost animals as I kid, I used to try to think of the good, long life my pet had lived... maybe you could try to do that through your tears.
I am so sorry to hear about your dog that is so sad, I am a huge animal lover and I know how much they become a part of your family and less of a pet.....
A friend of mine had a golden retriever who has some osrt of a stroke, head tilted to the side and she improved but ended up passing on and it was hard for me to handel since I had been around this dog since I was a child and I know with my own dog I would be devistated I cried when I had to leave her at the vet to get fixed when she was 6 months old and when I went on vacation she is like another child to me plus she saved my life she kept me alive when I was at my lowest point.
I wish you the best when you go to the vet I wish that there was more that I could say or do I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
Ranger is still with us for now at least.. It appears that my initial diagnosis was correct and he has indeed had a Stroke. So now we can only wait and see how much function he recovers and how the quality of his life will be.
OH sweetie...I know how you feel...my dog is having problems like yours. I only hope that it ends up well for both of them! Just know you're in my thoughts and prayers, and hope everything ends up for the best. Take care!
